The Competitor File is operated by The Competitor File ("we," "us"). Effective date: September 6, 2026.

What we collect

Information you submit: the competitor names you enter, your website, your name, your email address, and your approximate monthly marketing spend.
Scheduling information: when you book a walkthrough, your booking details are processed by our scheduling provider (Calendly) under their privacy policy.
Usage and advertising data: standard log data and cookies, including Google advertising cookies used to measure whether our ads lead to bookings.

How we use it

To build your competitor report and conduct your scheduled walkthrough.
To contact you about your request, including if you start a request but don't finish booking.
To measure and improve our advertising (e.g., Google Ads conversion tracking).

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help us deliver the service: our research and fulfillment partner (which produces the analysis), our scheduling provider (Calendly), our website host and form processor (Netlify), and Google for advertising measurement. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Retention

We keep request and booking information for as long as needed to provide the service and maintain business records, then delete or anonymize it.

Your choices

Email hello@thecompetitorfile.com to access, correct, or delete your information.
You can decline cookies in your browser settings; ads may be less relevant but the site still works.
Any marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe option, honored promptly.

Children

This service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
